Uqqaritsautit

The Uqqaritsautit course explores Inuktut terminology in areas such as environmental

knowledge, justice, community relations and human health. The Inuit language at this articulate

level features rich and very specific terminology although many terms have disappeared from

daily use with the dominance of English in the workplace and education system. With efforts

underway in Nunavut to advance the use of Inuktut in the workplace, there is a strong need for

advanced Inuit terminology in a number of fields. This course will enable you to understand

and use rich Inuktut terminology with greater confidence.

If you an Inuktut-speaking professional who would like to enhance your understanding and your

ability to use advanced and traditional Inuktut terminology, this course would be ideal for you.

As one of the prime objectives is to develop participants’ skills in their first language, all

instruction and learning activities will take place entirely in Inuktut.
