As a member of the Community Operations Support Team, the Administrative Assistant provides records and information management services and reception and general administrative support for the Division. The position is in Kugluktuk and reports to the Director, Community Operations - Kitikmeot.

This position has a general impact on the Division in the fulfilment of these responsibilities. More direct impacts are; Efficiency of reception when responding to queries, communications in Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun and English with the public and the Government of Nunavut employees, the daily operations of the divisions. Internal and external communications amongst Department staff, administrative support to region, divisional daily attendance records, financial transaction processing and data entry accuracy and information distribution amongst Divisional staff and the public.

Working knowledge of office procedures, record and information management systems (RIMS), proficiency with computers including MS Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel. Theories and practice skills are required for this position.

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of secondary school or GED and recent receptionist and secretarial and data entry experience, however it may be acquired through a varied combination of education, training and recent experiences.

Inuinnaqtun language skills are an asset.

Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
