This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
Reporting to the Supervisor Health Programs, the Housekeeper provides general housekeeping, laundry and linen services to ensure the cleanliness and tidiness of the facility to improve appearance and reduce the risk of infection and disease.
The Housekeeper is responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping and laundry of the facility. Housekeeping and laundry duties are provided for the patients and other workers as assigned. The position has a direct impact on the public’s eyes on cleanliness, appearance and overall health of the facility.
To be invited for an interview, must have completed grade 8, one year of housekeeping and/or laundry experience in commercial or institutional setting, must have WHMIS training if not will be provided the training, has basic housekeeping skills, must be fluent in both Inuktitut and English(written and verbal), and must be responsible and flexible .
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
