Reduced parking at the Rankin Inlet Airport

02 September 2022

Public Service Announcement
Reduced parking at the Rankin Inlet Airport

The Department of Economic Development and Transportation (EDT) is advising residents and travellers of upcoming construction for the Rankin Inlet air terminal expansion project starting September 2022. Parking spaces at the airport will be significantly reduced on a temporary basis. All travellers are advised to be aware and plan ahead.

Beginning in September, parking will be limited, and priority will be given to elders and those requiring accessible parking. All other travellers departing from or arriving at the airport are asked to follow signage for pick-up and drop-off directions.

Development of an overflow parking area is underway and is expected to be available for members of the public to use by the end of October 2022.

An update will be provided when the overflow parking area is ready for use.

The Department of EDT thanks the public for their patience and co-operation during this expansion project.
