Cultural Orientation Program – Summer Students

The Department of Human Resources is pleased to offer a Cultural Orientation workshop for summer student and any interested GN staff, which focuses on:

  • Inuit Qaujumajatuqangit Guiding Principles
  • Traditional Knowledge
  • Traditional Responsibilities
  • Relationship to the Environment

Participants will be working with Cultural Instructor Alexander Flaherty. Alex will be focusing on teaching participants about netting, making Pipsi, and drying fish. The workshop will be taught mainly outdoors and under a canvas tent. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

If you are interested, please fill you the application form and register. Participants are accepted on a first come first served basis, and only a limited number of spots are available following health and safety Covid-19 guidelines.

Completed application forms must be downloaded, printed and signed by the employee and the employee’s supervisor, then emailed or faxed. All registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
