Community COVID-19 vaccine dates for ages 5-11

The COVID-19 vaccine is Nunavut’s best protection against this virus, and all Nunavummiut are encouraged to be vaccinated as soon as they are eligible.

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 pediatric vaccine is available for Nunavummiut aged 5 to 11 starting November 29. Appointments will be necessary and can be made by calling your local health centre. A parent or guardian must accompany the child to the appointment, to give consent for the vaccination.

In Iqaluit, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 pediatric vaccine will be available at Iqaluit Public Health located in Building 1091 near the old airport terminal. Vaccine appointments for children aged 5 to 11 are available at Iqaluit Public Health until December 11. Call 975-4810 to book an appointment. Vaccine appointments will be given during the following times:

Day-time: Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., and 1:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.

After hours:

• Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
• Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 11:45 p.m., and 1 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.

Throughout Nunavut, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 pediatric vaccine will be also available in communities. Schedule may be impacted by weather or unexpected delays in delivery.

COVID-19 vaccines for all Nunavummiut aged 12 and older continue to be available, including first and second doses as well as booster shots. Contact your health centre or Iqaluit Public Health to make an appointment.

Social distancing, hand hygiene and enhanced cleaning practices will be in place to help keep everyone healthy. For the protection of yourself and the community, wear your own mask to your appointment.
