Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), Iqaluit Health Services, the Clinical Advisor, Iqaluit Health Services oversees the development, compliance and implementation of clinical policies and procedures for Iqaluit Health Services. This would include development of clinical policy standards as required by the Executive Director and the Senior Leadership Team for Iqaluit Health Services.
The Clinical Advisor contributes to the functioning of Iqaluit Health Services through the provision of clinical policy as well as service delivery. The Advisor provides advice and assistance to the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team on clinical policies and procedures and standards as well as leads the implementation and maintenance of the document management system (OMNI-Assistance) for Iqaluit Health Services. The Advisor is also responsible for development of business cases, briefing notes and other ministerial documentation.
The knowledge, skills, and experience required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized Undergraduate degree in policy, health administration or health-related field, along with two (2) years’ experience developing clinical policy. A master’s degree in a related field is considered an asset.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset. Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
