Reporting to the Regional Dental Services Coordinator, the Dental Program Support Clerk provides clerical and administrative support to the dental service division in accordance with the GN policies and procedures, current NIHB agreement, current contracts with the services providers, to ensure smooth operations and facilitation of Dental Services.
The position is responsible for managing office procedures and overseeing operational factors to ensure the smooth functioning of the Dental Program; developing and maintaining office filing system; handles all incoming and outgoing mail and facsimile transmissions; and maintain leave and attendance files.
An in-depth knowledge of office and administrative procedures; knowledge of file management; the ability to use a personal computer, using word processing, electronic mail and spreadsheet software; and strong leadership skills are required for this position.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through A High School Diploma and one-year experience working in an office environment.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, English and French.
Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
