Executive Services Coordinator

Reporting to the Deputy Minister of the Department of Health, the Executive Services Coordinator is responsible for providing overall administrative support and office management services for the Deputy Minister (DM) of Health. The Executive Services Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the office of the Deputy Minister by carrying out general secretarial, clerical, financial, and administrative functions and ensures timely and accurate completion of tasks.
The Executive Services Coordinator is responsible for managing the affairs of the Deputy minister (DM), responding to client inquires and complaints as well as coordinating activities for all divisional secretaries, clerical staff and receptionist working at headquarters, related to directives provided by the DM. The position is key to maintaining public and interdepartmental relationships, as it is often the first point of contact for clients and other departments who have issues to be discussed by the DM and/or the Department.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a Post-Secondary Certificate in Secretarial Science, Office Management, Records and Information Systems Management or related field along with a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in an office environment.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official language is an asset. Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
Current Indeterminate Government of Nunavut employees that apply and are successful on this term position may be offered an internal transfer assignment for the duration of the term pending Manager approval.
