Financial Reporting Analyst

Reporting to the Manager, Budgets, the Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for providing financial reviews, independent and objective analysis, support and advice to the Department’s Senior Management team, the Directors and Managers and the incumbent also monitors compliance with the Department’s mandate and Business Plan. This position ensures that the Department of Community and Government Services (CGS) complies with the legislative authority and standard practice as outlined and stipulated in the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and detailed in the guidelines, procedures and directives of the Financial Administration Manual (FAM) of the Government of Nunavut’s (GN) departments and agencies.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized Degree in Commerce, Management, Finance or Accounting and one (1) year of related experience. Progress towards a professional accounting or finance designation (CGA, CMA, CPA or CFA) from a recognized provincial or territorial accreditation body will be considered an asset.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French. Fluency in two or more of Nunavut’s official language is an asset. Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
