Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing advice, guidance and support to all staff within the Department of Culture and Heritage(C&H) and Inuit Uqausinginnik Taiguusiliuqtiit (IUT) through the effective delivery of staffing and recruitment, Inuit employment, employee orientation, performance management initiatives, training and development, employee relations, and human resources reporting.
The Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of training and development initiatives.The position will serve as the first point of contact in areas regarding staffing and conflict resolution.This position is essential to the organizations’ ability to deliver its mandate by recruiting, retaining, and fulfilling all human resources requirements within C&H and IUT. The Human Resources Coordinator supports the Manager of Human Resources on various human resource activities.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a diploma in Human Resources or a related field with two (2) years of experience in human resources(payroll, leave and attendance auditing, reporting, job description reviewing, preparing employment contracts, etc.,). A certified human resources professional designation and experience in employee training and development are considered strong asset.
Fluency in more than one language is an asset. The ability to speak and write in Inuktut is also an asset. Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.
Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
