The analysis, planning and design of the Government of Nunavut’s (GN’s) core data and voice communications are the responsibility of the Solutions Delivery group within Informatics Planning and Services (IPS). The Network Analyst will report directly to the Manager, Solutions Delivery and will work closely with other resources in the Solutions Delivery group within IPS as a whole and with third party vendors.

The Network Analyst will be responsible for the installations, testing and administration of all related data and voice telecommunication hardware, software and protocols within the Solution Delivery network environment. This will include Wide Area Network (WAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) voice, wireless, switching, routing and related protocols.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized three (3) year post-secondary college program in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related engineering program; as well as, Vendor Certifications such as Cisco, Mitel, F5, Juniper Networks and Riverbed.   In addition, you must have as a minimum (5) years of recent and progressive experience in a large (over 750 devices) complex enterprise wide WAN/MAN/LAN routing/switching networks with diverse solutions from multiple vendors and five (5) years of demonstrated design, installation, configuration and support of network routing/switching equipment and their related protocols.   Proven experience in project and contract administration within an enterprise level Information Management/Information Communication Technology (IM/ICT) environment and exposure to satellite network communications will be considered assets.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French. Fluency in Inuktitut is an asset. Knowledge of Inuit language, communities, culture, land and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit is an asset.

Equivalencies that consist of an acceptable combination of education and experience may be considered.
