Call for Nominations for the Nunavut Criminal Code Review Board members

The Department of Justice is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Nunavut Criminal Code Review Board (NCCRB).

As required by the Criminal Code in Canada, the NSSRB is responsible for determining the placement of a person who has been found by the criminal court to be unfit to stand trial or not criminally responsible on account of mental disorder. These placements include detainment in a hospital, discharge into the community with conditions, or absolute discharge in the case of those deemed not criminally responsible.
Psychiatrists, lawyers in good standing with the law society, and active members of the public from communities across Nunavut are invited to apply. NCCRB members will receive honoraria for their services.

To apply, please provide a cover letter and resume to ncrb@gov.nu.ca.

For more information, please contact the Nunavut Criminal Code Review Board at ncrb@gov.nu.ca or at 867-975-6533.

The application deadline is August 20, 2021.
