Iqaluit Justice Committee seeking members

Do you have knowledge and experience with social issues, restorative justice and Inuit societal values? Interested in helping victims and offenders? The Iqaluit Justice Committee is looking for three community members – two elders and one middle generation individual.

Justice committees in Nunavut use a community-based approach to assist victims of crime and work with people who have caused harm by committing an offence.

Committee members are volunteers and receive honoraria for attending meetings. Training will be provided.

If you are interested, please submit your resume and criminal record check to Leetia Kowalchuk, Iqaluit’s Community Justice Outreach Worker, at lkowalchuk@gov.nu.ca. For further information, call 867-975-6362.

Deadline for submission is Friday, October 26, 2018.
