Sport Fishing Licence fee change

Sport Fishing Licence fees in Nunavut are increasing by 2.2 per cent as of April 1, 2020.

The federal Service Fees Act requires an annual increase for licences issued under federal legislation, including Sport Fishing Licences, which are issued under the federal Fisheries Act.

For a complete breakdown in prices and why they’re increasing, please review this year’s Sport Fishing Guide, available on the Department of Environment’s website or at your local Wildlife Office.

Under the Fisheries Act, all non-Nunavut beneficiaries must obtain a Sport Fishing Licence prior to fishing.

Licences are available from the Department of Environment, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, most sport fishing lodges and some retail stores.

Please consult your local Wildlife Office if you have any questions.
