National Mining Week in Nunavut

During National Mining Week, the Department of Economic Development and Transportation is celebrating the contributions the mineral resources industry brings to the territory through training, employment, and business benefits.

To highlight Mining Week, a new online Nunavut mining booklet has been developed for young people across Nunavut, with the support of Economic Development and Transportation in partnership with Mining North. The online booklet includes several fun and informational activities for learning more about the role of minerals in our lives. To download the Nunavut mining booklet, visit Mining North Works!.

You have a chance to win one of five prize packs, which include a backpack filled with hats, a gold bar flash drive, cell phone charger, colouring pencils, pens, and notebooks.

Download and print the Nunavut activity booklet, complete as many activities and questions as you can, take a photo or scan, and email your entry to @email

Have fun, start conversations, and submit your work for a chance to win!
