Iqaluit COVID-19 vaccine clinics expanded

Iqaluit’s COVID-19 vaccination program is expanding on January 27 to include people 60 years and older. This is in addition to following previously announced groups:

  • Elders 65+ and shelter residents;
  • frontline healthcare providers and first responders;
  • medevac flight crews;
  • residents and staff of group homes, and the Akausisarvik Mental Health Treatment Centre; and
  • residents and staff at correctional facilities.

Vaccinations for identified groups will take place at Iqaluit Public Health from Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Qikiqtani General Hospital clinic-side until January 30. Call 867-975-4810 to make an appointment. Please wear a mask to your appointment.

The COVID-19 vaccine is our best protection against COVID-19. To help stop the spread of the virus, and other respiratory illnesses, please remember to:

  • Stay home when you feel sick.
  • Cough or sneeze into your sleeve.
  • Wash your hands often.
  • Avoid touching your face.
  • Throw used tissues in the trash right away.
  • Keeping distance from others when out and about.
  • Don’t smoke indoors or around others, especially babies.
