2016-17 student-educator ratios for Nunavut schools

The student-educator ratios (SER) for 2016-17 show an increase of ten teaching positions overall in Nunavut, but there are fluctuations from community to community. Some education districts will receive new positions and others will lose some.

The SER is the number of students who attend a school divided by the number of educators in the institution. These ratios are calculated yearly to determine the number of teaching staff for each community.

The SER numbers for 2016/17 have been provided to all District Education Authorities and schools.

For more information on the student-educator ratio and a listing of the communities’ allocated teaching positions for the next school year, please visit http://www.gov.nu.ca/sites/default/files/ser_bkgrdr_eng.pdf
