Call for Income Assistance Appeal Board Members

The Department of Family Services is accepting applications for the Income Assistance Appeal Board. This is a two-year term beginning October 17, 2020 to October 16, 2022.

The Income Assistance Appeal Board convenes to hear territory-wide appeals that may arise from Income Assistance clients who disagree with the decisions of the Income Assistance Appeal Committee. The Appeal Board operates under the authority of the Income Assistance Act. Board members will be compensated for the time in which they convene in order to make decisions on appeals.

All Nunavut residents are eligible to apply, with the exception of employees working in the Income Assistance Division of the Department of Family Services.

Interested applicants may submit their resume or letter of interest before 4 p.m., September 18, 2020. Selected candidates will be required to attend a training session before beginning their role on the committee.
