Changes to the Senior Citizen Supplementary Benefit

The Senior Citizen Supplementary Benefit (SCSB) is changing!

The SCSB provides low-income seniors in Nunavut, who qualify for the federal Guaranteed Income Supplement, a monthly payment to help with the high cost of living.

Effective April 1, 2015, the current amount paid to eligible seniors will increase from $175 per month to $200 per month. This change is part of the ongoing commitment to review and reform income assistance in Nunavut.
