Kinngait health centre opening August 3
The Department of Health is happy to announce that the new Kinngait health centre will be open and accepting patients beginning August 3.
The new facility will improve community access to health care in Kinngait and will better support its professional health care team in providing integrated health care services.
Inside the facility is a brighter, more spacious waiting room with large windows, creating a more welcoming atmosphere for clients. The updated space will allow for an expansion of day programs in a comfortable and private setting. An upgraded phone system will also provide quicker access to emergency health services after hours.
This health centre supports the Department ’s commitment to address and expand mental health services and programs. It’s design model incorporates the introduction of a calming room for those struggling with their mental health. Calming rooms provide a safe and therapeutic space for clients to use if they are feeling stressed or overwhelmed. This room creates an option for the community to access mental health services in a space that is welcoming and supports healing.
To book an appointment, please call 867-897-8820. Residents of Kinngait are asked not to crowd the health centre or to visit to check out the centre’s new features. Public tours of the facility will be offered at a later date.
