Nunavut polar bear hide sale launches September 28

The Department of Environment’s polar bear hide sale starts September 28. Register now at the Nanuit Initiative website (https://nanuit.ca) for a chance to buy a Nunavut bear hide returned from the Fur Harvesters Auction.
The sale is open to Nunavut residents only and limited to one hide per household.

To provide fair opportunity for purchase, there will be a draw to give buyers the right to purchase one polar bear hide from the remaining stock. When a name is picked, the individual will be contacted and will have 72 hours to make the payment. Upon payment, hides will be shipped free of charge to the appropriate Wildlife Office where the owners will be notified.

All sales will be final and all hides will be sold as is. The hides are raw (not tanned) and vary in quality from very good to poor. They will also be available in large or extra-large, ranging from $200 to $800.
