Polar bear sighting in Iqaluit

Polar bear tracks were sighted at the breakwater, old graveyard, and causeway areas of Iqaluit today, Friday October 27.

Officers are patrolling the area and monitoring the situation.

If you see a bear, or signs of a bear, please call the Wildlife Office:

975-7780 or 222-0167.

The public is asked to stay away from areas in which polar bears are sighted to ensure public safety and to allow the officers to manage the situation.
