T5007 tax slips for Income Assistance recipients

The Department of Family Services, Income Assistance Division, wants Income Assistance recipients to know T5007 tax slips for 2022 were issued in late February.

Those who received the Senior Citizens Supplementary Benefit in 2022 will receive their T5007 in the mail.

It’s important to file your income tax return every year to ensure you receive the correct benefits.

Federal benefits such as the Canada Child Benefit, Old Age Benefit, and Guaranteed Income Supplement are based on your income tax return, as are Government of Nunavut benefits such as the Senior Citizens Supplementary Benefit, and the Senior Fuel Subsidy.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) tax filing deadline is April 30, 2023.
