URRC approves interim Fuel Stabilization Rider (FSR)

The URRC has received a request from Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) for a 7.33 cents per kWh interim fuel stabilization rider, effective from April 1, 2023, through September 30, 2023. The Minister responsible for Qulliq Energy Corporation forwarded the request to the URRC on April 3, 2023, for review and recommendation.

In the interest of minimizing further rate increases, the URRC recommended the rider be approved on an interim basis pending full review to be completed by June 30, 2023.

QEC fuel stabilization riders are automatically applied to monthly power bills and customers do not need to fill out an application form.

A copy of the application is posted on QEC’s website at www.qec.nu.ca and is available upon request either through the URRC or QEC.

Written submissions regarding the interim fuel stabilization rider can be made to the URRC.

The deadline for written submissions is May 5, 2023, 5 p.m. (Eastern Time).

Submissions can be sent to:
