You can apply for a Nunavut Driver’s Licence at a Motor Vehicles Division issuing office in the following communities:
Iqaluit
Rankin Inlet
Cambridge Bay
Gjoa Haven
You can reach these offices by dialing the toll-free number 1-888-975-5999. In all other communities, you can apply at office of the local Municipal Liaison Officer (MLO) or Government Liaison Officer (GLO).

For a new or renewal of Nunavut Driver’s Licence the fee is $68.40 ($38.40 if age 60 and older).
For transfer of driver’s licence from another Canadian province or territory the fee is $68.40 ($38.40 if age 60 and older).
Duplicate of lost/stolen/damaged Nunavut driver’s licence is $15.40 ($12.40 if age 60 and older).
If you recently passed a driver’s test in Nunavut, the upgrade fee is $15.40 ($12.40 if age 60 and older).
If you are downgrading your Nunavut driver’s licence to a regular Class 5 from either Class 1, 2, 3 or 4, the fee is $15.40 ($12.40 if age 60 and older).
Note:
Make sure you show two government issued identification, at least one showing your date of birth.
A Nunavut driver’s licence is valid for a 5-year term.
