Call for proposals for suicide prevention initiatives and alcohol and drug prevention funding programs

The Department of Health’s Inuusivut Division is accepting funding proposals for Upigivatsi suicide prevention initiatives and alcohol and drug prevention funding programs for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. There will be a second round of funding in the new fiscal year.

Not-for-profit organizations, municipal governments, and Nunavummiut are encouraged to submit proposals for community-based projects. The funded programs will support suicide prevention, suicide intervention, and suicide post-intervention through the Upigivatsi program and proposals that address substance use through the alcohol and drug program.

Upigivatsi provides funding for diverse activities including on-the-land programs for youth, connection with elders, formal counselling, development of peer support groups, research, community training, and social emotional learning. Alcohol and Drug Funding provides support for numerous community-based programs and activities including peer support groups, peer counselling, and training.

Applicants are encouraged to be creative and innovative and develop programs that meet the specific needs of their community and reflect Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.

Applicants interesting in submitting proposals should contact @email for an application package or for more information. Assistance is available to help complete applications.

Applications review begins on Monday, March 20, 2023.  Please begin the application process ahead of this date to ensure your proposal receives full consideration.
