Common travel area re-opened with Churchill

Nunavut’s Chief Public Health Officer has re-opened the Common Travel Area with Churchill, Manitoba.

Unvaccinated travellers who are in a COVID-free community and have been in the common travel area for at least 14 days will be able to travel to and from Churchill.

  • Unvaccinated travellers from Churchill must complete a Common Area Traveller’s Declaration form and send it to @email. They also must wear masks in public spaces and observe physical distancing for the duration of their return trip.
  • Unvaccinated Nunavummiut who enter Churchill on exemption to live, work, study or for compassionate reasons and wish to return to Nunavut must also complete a Common Area Traveller’s Declaration form and send it to @email.
  • Nunavummiut travelling to Churchill will be subject to the region’s public health measures and will have to get tested prior to travel or after arrival in Churchill.
  • Travellers who are unvaccinated will be subject to new federal travel rules.
  • Note, the Government of Nunavut is not providing testing for travel purposes.

Vaccinated travellers with a vaccinated traveller exemption are not required to obtain a common travel declaration but may need to provide a Proof of Vaccine Certificate at the airport to comply with new federal rules.
