Don’t enter airport runways and aprons

The Government of Nunavut’s Department of Economic Development and Transportation advises Nunavummiut to not enter airport runways and aprons unless they are authorized to do so. This is particularly important for communities where runways and aprons are not fenced in.

Accidents can happen if a person enters the runways and aprons without permission. Endangering the safety of aircrafts is an offence and criminal charges may be laid.

The best place to greet family and friends is in the airport terminal. Safety is everyone’s responsibility; please help keep our airport runways and aprons safe.
