Food recall due to Listeria monocytogenes

The Department of Health is warning about a food recall issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination on the following product:

Eat Smart Brand Salad Shake Ups – Sweet Kale – The 156g package has been recalled. The product code is DEC 03 2018 and the UPC number is 7 09351 30243 5. More information on this product recall can be found on the CFIA website at https://bit.ly/2G2jz96.

This recalled product should be thrown out or returned to the location where it was purchased.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, Elders and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
