Food recall on Nature's Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend

The Department of Health is warning about a food recall on a frozen fruit product, Nature’s Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend. The frozen fruit was sold exclusively through Costco warehouses in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) is advising Canadians not to consume the frozen fruit. PHAC is working with federal and provincial public health partners to investigate an outbreak of hepatitis A infections in three provinces linked to the frozen fruit product.

Though there isn’t a Costco in Nunavut, Nunavummiut may have purchased the frozen fruit from a Costco location listed, and brought it back to the territory. Please check to see if you have any recalled products. All recalled products should be thrown out.

If you think you have been exposed to the recalled product, or have symptoms consistent with hepatitis A, see your health care provider immediately.

For a full list of recalled products, please visit http://inspection.gc.ca/ or call 1-800-442-2342 for more information.
