Food recall warning on some Bothwell brand shredded cheese products

The Department of Health is warning about a food recall on some Bothwell brand shredded cheese products for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The following products are recalled:

  • Bothwell White Cheddar Shred, Lot #151030;
  • Botwell Old Cheddar Shred, Lot #151030;
  • Bothwell Mild Shred, Lot #151030;
  • Bothwell Old Shred, Lot #151030; and
  • Bothwell Mozzarella Blend Shredded Cheese, Lot #160626.

Please check to see if you have recalled products. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.

Listeria monocytogenes symptoms include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, Elders and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
