Food recalls due to Listeria monocytogenes
The Department of Health is warning about a food recall issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination on the following products:
- Various Gordon Choice brand frozen, diced chicken product – Product details can be found https://inspection.gc.ca/about-the-cfia/newsroom/food-recall-warnings/complete-listing/2019-10-01/eng/1569966827257/1569966833147.
This recalled product should be thrown out or returned to the location where it was purchased.
Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms include vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, Elders and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
