Food Recalls due to Salmonella
The Department of Health is warning about a food recall issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) due to possible Salmonella contamination of the following products:
Janes Brand Pub Style Chicken Burgers – The 800g package has been recalled. The product code is 2019 MA 14 and the UPC number is 0 69299 12491 0. More information on this product recall can be found on the CFIA website at https://bit.ly/2Ppf6Ro.
This recalled product should be thrown out or returned to the location where it was purchased.
Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause sickness. Short-term symptoms can include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Young children, pregnant women, Elders and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your local health centre.
