Foxes in Cambridge Bay

Cambridge Bay, NU 

This is a warning about foxes that are wandering in the community of Cambridge Bay. 

Dogs and foxes can transmit rabies to people. If you have been bitten or scratched, or had any contact with a fox, please go to the health centre and report the incident immediately. Treatment must be started quickly. 

If you see a fox wandering around the community, call the wildlife officer at 867-983-4167, or the bylaw officer at 867-983-5305. 

If your dog has had contact with a fox, or other wild animal, please contact your regional environmental health officer at 867-983-4236. 

Rabies vaccinations (shots) for your dog are available from the lay vaccinator.
