Iqaluit Alluriarvik Justice Committee seeking members

The Iqaluit Alluriarvik Justice Committee consists of respected Elders, men, women and youth who offer a variety of experience, knowledge and respectful support to the community.
The Iqaluit justice committee is currently looking for three male members to be formally appointed by the Minister of Justice.
Justice committees in Nunavut use a community-based justice approach to work with people who have come in contact with the law and to assist victims.
Interested committee members should have knowledge and experience in dealing with social issues. They should also have knowledge of and an appreciation for Inuit values, and be sensitive to helping victims and offenders.
Training on the roles and responsibilities of justice committee members will be provided. These are volunteer positions with honoraria for attending meetings. Deadline for submission is July 31, 2015.
