Nunavut Environment Week 7-Day Challenge

IQALUIT, Nunavut (May 29, 2015) – As part of Canadian Environment Week, June 1-7, 2015, the Department of Environment is challenging Nunavummiut to participate in the Nunavut Environment Week 7-Day Challenge.

"I encourage all Nunavummiut to spend time outdoors during Canadian Environment Week," said Minister of Environment Johnny Mike. "This is a beautiful time of year to enjoy and appreciate Nunavut’s extraordinary wildlife and majestic landscapes. Let’s get outside and participate!"

Challenges will be posted daily throughout the week on the Government of Nunavut (GN) website and social media pages, for a chance to win prizes. Nunavummiut are encouraged to take pictures of themselves completing the daily challenges and message them to the GN Facebook page, or tweet them using #NEW7. Entries can also be emailed to @email.

Canadian Environment Week is an annual event that encourages Canadians to take action to help preserve, protect and restore our environment. It coincides with Clean Air Day on June 4, World Environment Day on June 5 and International Trails Day on June 6.
