Nunavut Recognizes National Nursing Week
May 10 to 16 is National Nursing Week in Canada. The Department of Health recognizes the important work and commitment of Nunavut’s nurses.
We Answer The Call is this year’s National Nursing Week theme. Nunavut's nurses embody this year's theme daily through their courage and dedication to patient care throughout the territory.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vital role that nurses play throughout a patient's healthcare journey. While they continue to work at the frontlines of patient care, Nunavut's nurses have adeptly shifted into various roles to protect the health and safety of all Nunavummiut. Their varied contributions have been instrumental in the management, response, and recovery from COVID-19 outbreaks.
Whether it is in responding to the pandemic or continuing their important work enhancing care for all Nunavummiut, Nunavut’s nurses have answered the call.
