Iqaluit, Nunavut (March 2, 2021) – Today, Nunavut has one new case of COVID-19. There are nine active cases in the territory, all in Arviat. All individuals are doing well, are isolating at home and contact tracing is ongoing.

“Although there is still no evidence of community transmission in Arviat at this time, it is necessary to maintain all current public health measures to slow any additional spread,” said Dr. Michael Patterson, Nunavut’s Chief Public Health Officer. “I am very pleased with the efforts to date and I encourage everyone to stay strong in their efforts. Arviarmuit, thank you for all your work to keep your community healthy. Please keep going and know your hard work is effective.”
