Premier and Cabinet to visit Parliament Hill for series of working meetings

Ottawa, Ontario (April 28, 2023) – Nunavut’s Executive Council is promoting Katujjiluta mandate priorities May 1 and 2 through a series of meetings with federal counterparts in Ottawa. “Nunavut on the Hill” is a two-day political working visit to Parliament to build on our partnerships with the Canadian government.

“Cabinet and I will ensure the daily realities of Nunavummiut are heard about in Ottawa, where many decisions that impact our territory are made today,” Premier P.J. Akeeagok said.

“While the majority of nation-building in Canada spans from East to West, we look to see investments and infrastructure projects reach to our Arctic coast. To this end, our government is investing its own equity in solutions that support strong and resilient communities and contribute to Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic.”

Advancements for Nunavut made through the Katujjiluta mandate will expand Nunavut’s housing continuum, enable health and healing, reinvest in education, diversify local economies, and help our Elders age with dignity at home.
