Premier Taptuna announces cabinet changes 

April 14, 2015 

Quebec City, QC

Premier Peter Taptuna released the following statement: 

“Effective immediately, I have removed Tom Sammurtok, Minister of Community and Government Services, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Rankin Inlet North - Chesterfield Inlet from his cabinet responsibilities. 

The removal is a result of an incident that involved driving under the influence on Monday, April 13, 2015. Pending Minister Sammurtok’s court appearance, he remains minister without portfolio. 

Minister Johnny Mike assumes all ministerial responsibilities of Minister Sammurtok, including the portfolio of Community and Government Services.”
