Nunavut 60 sec

Nunavummiut are reminded to stay safe near vessel landing sites during sealift season, which is from July to October. Vessel landing and loading sites on beaches are high-traffic areas where heavy machinery is in use. Heavy equipment operators may not be able to see people or vehicles in or near these areas.

For your safety, please take the following precautions during sealift season:

• Do not walk or park vehicles on docks or beaches where vessels are loading and/or unloading;

• Keep clear of all heavy machinery;

• Children should not climb or play on crates, sea cans or heavy machinery; and

• Follow all signs and directions from sealift operators and authorized personnel about safe loading and unloading areas.
