Uqausirmut Quviasuutiqarniq 2024 – Educational Resources

Uqausirmut Quviasuutiqarniq 2024 is the celebration of Inuktut and Inuit culture in Nunavut. This year's theme is Nattiq, the ringed seal. The Department of Education is dedicated to fostering Inuktut learning and has created some digital resources.  

Angirrami Ilinniarniq is an online educational resource to help families support their children’s learning in their own language. There are hundreds of Inuktitut and Inuinnaqtun resources on the site, including books, audiobooks, animated videos, and simple learning activities.

In addition, there are two interactive and easy-to-use Inuit language smartphone apps: Uqausiit Pinguarutiit and Titirariuqsauti. Both apps use playful ways to learn vocabulary and syllabics. They can be downloaded for free from the Apple and Google Play app stores.

Speak with your family and friends and pass on your language skills to your children, friends and colleagues. Each time we use Inuktut, we help keep our language and culture strong.
