The Department of Family Services is now accepting applications for the Rebekah Uqi Williams Scholarship, aimed at Nunavummiut interested in pursuing a career in social work, counselling or psychology.

This scholarship serves to honour the legacy of Rebekah Uqi Williams by supporting the educational endeavors of upcoming social workers.

Five grants are available, each offering up to $10,000 to cover education expenses for dedicated students in these disciplines.

Rebekah's journey in the public service began as a nurse in her hometown, Arctic Bay. She later transitioned into social work, recognizing the need to tackle broader societal challenges affecting the well-being of Inuit.
