Call for proposals – Youth Initiatives funding

The Department of Family Services is now accepting proposals for community-based initiatives that are focused on creating safe youth transitional housing, overnight shelters or youth programming within Nunavut. Initiatives may begin in the 2022-23 fiscal year, starting anytime after April 1, 2022.

Community-based, non-profit organizations, and municipal corporations may apply for funding to deliver initiatives that reflect Inuusivut (well-being and self-reliance) and Pivaallirutivut (developing infrastructure that supports a positive future for our people and communities) for youth by increasing emergency shelters or safe spaces for youth.

For an application to the Youth Initiatives Funding or for general information on the initiative, please contact:

Ashlea Biles, Coordinator in the Prevention of Violence Against Children and Youth Initiatives at 867-975-5399, @email; or
Joanne Henderson, Director of Family Wellness, Department of Family Services, at 867-975-5230, email @email.

The application deadline is March 07, 2022. Applicants must provide proof of current standing with Nunavut Legal Registries, if applicable.
